Brazilian Grand Prix FP2
Ferrari’s straight line advantage re-emerges, Verstappen stays close in third, and the silver arrows round out the top 5 as the leaders keep within 2 tenths of each other in the Brazilian Grand Prix FP2 session.
The Brazilian Grand FP2 session was center stage for the Scuderia to show the advantage their Singapore GP upgrades had over the grid are here to stay. Vettel lead Leclerc but only by a couple thousandths of a second. Verstappen did his best to give chance but fell third. Albon didn’t have the best of runs as Max was much quicker than his teammate Alex Albon who recovered nicely from his FP1 shunt.
Speaking of shunts, it was Kubica who was next as he put his car that Latifi kept warm for him in the FP1 session into the wall at Interlagos. Verstappen also was plagued with some issues – just shy of half way through he was forced to head in to resolve a DRS issue. The problems continued through the field as the sister car of Red Bull, Toro Rosso, began to see smoke billowing out of both cars. Gasly had an engine die on him while Kvyat was forced to retire due to a wreck in the exact same place Alex Albon went off in FP1.

Being one of the shortest tracks on the 2019 F1 schedule, Qualifying is going to be critical. While we covered how less than a second separate P1 and P9, Sainz is separated by George Russell’s last place Williams by half of that margin. You don’t want to miss tomorrow’s events.
