Verstappen takes his 8th win while Gasly is P2 with his first ever podium. Hamilton finishes off the podium but under heavy scrutiny for his Albon incident.

Alex Albon was set for a P3 first ever podium and Hamilton clipped him. FIA are investigating – more to come.

Ferrari double DNF lap 66 and both are forced to retire after they touch.

Alfa Romeo drivers Kimi Raikkonen and Antonio Giovinazzi have an incredible day and double points finish as Ricciardo fights back after serving an early penalty.

SO. MUCH. DRAMA. Albon was in position for a podium then taken out by Hamilton with two laps left. Lewis under investigation but finishes P3.

LAP 70

More carnage. Lewis Hamilton goes for a late dive on Albon to grab the remaining podium but clips the Red Bull spinning him out. Hamilton retains P3 but Albon is robbed of his first podium. Lewis now has the sister Toro Rosso in his cross hairs of Gasly. 

LAP 66

DOUBLE DNF FERRARI!! Leclerc overtakes Vettel after a late brake going into turn 1. Vettel comes back at him out the outside and causes a double puncture. Both Ferraris are forced to retire. 

LAP 55

Bottas can’t overtake Leclerc. He follows closely for far too many laps and overheats. Pulls over to ruin the potential to be the 10th lap in F1 history without retirement. 

LAP 50

“NEED MORE POWER.” Hamilton

LAP 41

9 laps in Formula 1 history have ended without a retirement. We’re on pace to be race #10. 

LAP 39

Everyone has now pitted. Leclerc puts on hard tyres for “Plan C”. Cars on the hard tyre – Hulk, Leclerc, Norris, and Bottas. Valtteri appears to be accounting for hot temps as Hamilton complains about tyre deg.

LAP 26

Kubica impedes Verstappen coming out of pit forcing an epic battle between Max, Leclerc, and Hamilton. Max ultimately wins out. Will be surprised if there’s no penalty for Kubica.

Gap from Hamilton to Verstappen is under 2 as he complains about tyres and Hamilton confirms his are solid. 

Ricciardo does get a 5 second grid penalty for his incident with Magnussen. Confirmed Lap 16

Ricciardo contact with Magnussen who is forced to pit as he attempts to overtake LAP 11. 

“It’s warmed today so will be harder on tyres for everyone. I think we have good pace.” Verstappen
Sainz takes on a grid penalty seeing as how his McLaren didn’t set a time in qualifying. He’ll be at the back of the grid today.
