Toro Rosso 2020 Drivers Confirmed as Gasly & Kvyat retain their seat for the next Formula 1 season.
Daniil Kvyat and Pierre Gasly are now safely in the ranks of Toro Rosso 2020 drivers. This Red Bull media blitz came right after the sister squad had Alex Albon confirmed for 2020 F1 season next to Max Verstappen. The two young drivers have had to face the media pressures that go along with racing for Toro Rosso and each of them enduring their ups and downs with the program as Gasly just seven short races ago found himself demoted back to his current team.
The duo have scored 21 points since being teamed up. If we were to remove the outlier of Toro Rosso’s Germany result considering the chaotic circumstances, the past 7 race results have been better than they’ve been able to put up all year. These two in a healthy competition to get back to the top seat at Red Bull have pushed eachother to grab more points than they averaged previously.
Below is a breakdown of the first 7 races with Gasly back in the Toro Rosso seat and how he’s performed next to Kvyat.

Toro Rosso 2020 Drivers Statistics Compared
Below is the data table showing the two Toro Rosso driver’s performances through seven races since Gasly’s demotion at SPA.
The Toro Rosso drivers are relatively on equal par in terms of experience having both had a shot at Red Bull. The performance thus far leans in the way of Gasly but the confirmation for 2020 could swing the tides. Franz Tost had this to say about about Toro Rosso 2020 being announced ahead of Brazil:
Franz Tost Commenting On Retaining The Young Toro Rosso Lineup
I’m delighted to retain Pierre and Daniil for next season. Both drivers have shown really good performances this season and they have proven in their years in F1 to be very competitive, able to exploit the car’s potential and give valuable feedback to make improvements. This young but experienced duo, combined with hopefully a competitive car, will be the best factors to achieve a very successful season in 2020 and I’m looking forward to this extended cooperation.
