Japanese Grand Prix FP1 Results sUMMARY
Japanese Grand Prix – Valtteri Bottas leads the silver arrows yet again as Mercedes F1 lead the pack at the Suzuka track at the Japanese Grand Prix. Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes went 1-2 in every session including the race last year.
Valtteri Bottas, Lewis Hamilton, and the rest of the field got as much running in as they could with Typhoon Hagibis canceling FP3 session and making it a crunched race/qualifying day similar to the grand prix in Austin a few years back.
Mercedes is seperated by just a tenth of a second and oscillated tyres to get compound tests done this sesison and next. Expect a very busy FP2 session as well. Coming off a contentious Russian Grand Prix Vettel asserts himself as top driver still piping Leclerc by two tenths. Max Verstappen trailed Leclerc but led his teammate. He match the gap Vettel holds over Leclerc currently as the top six teams round out in relatively predictable order… for now.
