One of the main storylines emerging, especially after a very solid race from George Russell, is the doubt in Valtteri Bottas. He would quiet that for a bit temporarily after beating a recovering Lewis Hamilton. Toto would step in after the finale in Abu Dhabi and make it unequivocally clear that Valtteri Bottas is their driver for 2021 and George Russell win remain their junior driver.
“He’s going to be in our car, I’m hereby confirming it. We have a contract with Valtteri. He’s going to race next year. You need to kick me quite hard in a sensitive zone for me to ever lose my loyalty. And I am loyal to my two race drivers.”

Another driver in question is the Thai born Red Bull driver who was promoted following a shaky start to the 2019 season for fellow former Red Bull junior Pierre Gasly. With Sergio Perez still without a seat, it’s left many to wonder if he’s going to get the Red Bull seat but Horner remained relatively tight lipped about the matter following the conclusion of the season. He would say the following after the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Speaking of the finale – Round 17 would be a wet blanket of a race but it did serve a very important purpose… signal the end of the season. The only real action came after Carlos Sainz would alledgedly violate pit lane speeds only for the FIA to back off from any punishment on the now Ferrari driver.
