2020 Australian Grand Prix Tyre Guide [INFOGRAPHIC]

The Australian Grand Prix Tyre Guide highlights the opening round of the 2020 F1 season. 

The official selection by Pirelli have been to opt for the C2 white hards, the C3 medium yellows, and the C4 red softs. The step mimics what we saw last year for round 1 in Melbourne. Keep in mind, the teams have opted to go with 2019 compound grades and to reject the proposed tyre grades from Mario Isola and Pirelli.

Of the top 3 teams, only Vettel chooses to go with 2 sets of hard compound C2’s with Mercedes being the softest allocation selecting 10 pairs each of the soft tipped reds.

To start the season off, the following teams begin their respective driver pairing on identical allocations:

• Mercedes
• Red Bull
• McLaren
• Racing Point
• Haas

Interesting fact: Kevin Magnussen is the only driver of the 5 that started on the softest allocation (a single C2, 2 C3’s, & 10 C4’s) under the age of 30. The other five drivers are beyond their 30th birthday. If anything, proving the experience we have on the grid in the Formula 1 2020 season. Those drivers are Lewis Hamilton, Bottas, Daniel Ricciardo, Kevin Magnussen, and Romain Grosjean.
